While leaks of how the Google Pixel 4 would look like have already surfaced, there hasn’t been much news about the internals. Pixel devices, due to their launch time during the year, have always gone outdated quite quickly, in my opinion. In an exclusive report by 9to5Google, leaked specs of the upcoming Pixel 4 and 4 XL have surfaced.

According to the report, there have been leaks regarding the camera sensor, the battery and the display of the devices. Talking about the camera sensor firstly, the Pixel devices would be featuring a dual camera set up on the back. This is a first for the brand as they hailed their AI technology for quite a while. According to the report, these sensors would be housed in a big, square camera bump and featuring a 12-megapixel prime sensor and a 16-megapixel telephoto one. Secondly, talking about the battery: the devices would be fitted with similar sized ones from before. In the report, the writer mentions that the Pixel 4 would feature a 2800mAh battery while the bigger Pixel 4 XL version would have a 3700 one. While these numbers do seem impressive, relative to the display sizes, I have my doubts.

Coming to the displays, it has long been rumored and according to this report, confirmed that the devices would feature a 5.7 inch and a 6.3-inch display respectively. It should also be noted that these displays would be OLED panels with the Pixel 4 being capped at 1080p while the Pixel 4 XL at 1440p. These devices are also said to feature a 90Hz panel, dubbed as Google’s “Smooth Display“. Talking about batteries now, while the bigger model does get a bigger battery from the previous model, the Pixel 4 gets a cut on the battery department. While these aren’t small batteries, with displays at higher refresh rates, they might not be the daily survivers everyone would want them to be.

Both devices are said to feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 chipset and the usual 6GB Ram. They would also feature stereo features and more. Perhaps we would get the full picture and the pricing at Google’s event in October.
