Nvidia has finally released the GTX 1660 SUPER and the GTX 1650 SUPER graphics cards. With these new cards, the mid-range market has become more crowded than ever which is good news for the consumers. However, the product research process has become more tedious and Nvidia is not afraid of it. They are boasting their hardware superiority with every product introduction.

Software optimization is as important as the underlying hardware and the drivers and tech teams in Nvidia are working hard to deliver the best software experience in the form of GeForce Experience. It is the last big update of the year and it comes with many new and improved features.

ReShade filters

In the last update, Nvidia employed the ReShade filters which allowed an increased level of visual fidelity for game screenshots. Users can press Alt+F2 anytime in the game to grab a quick screenshot of the game. In this update, Nvidia has increased the number of filters that you can import from ReShade. Additionally, users can now apply “post-processing” features to increase the visual fidelity of their screenshots.

It allows users to employ features such as “sharpen the image details”, ambient occlusion, depth of field, SMAA antialiasing, color correction and much more. Users can easily use these features through the streamlined GeForce experience UI which will greatly simplify the customization process.

Improved sharpening in all DirectX games

Nvidia introduced image sharpening tools for Nvidia Freestyle. Now the feature is available for every game developed under the DirectX API. These include games developed for DirectX 9 all the way up to DirectX 12. They are also working on Vulkan and Open GL games. It allows image upscaling using AI on their servers. It will reduce the load on GPU and users will get to enjoy superior upscaling and dynamic rendering.

Ultra low latency modeNull Ultra Mode

Latency has been an issue with many FPS games of the modern era. Developers are employing techniques to decrease network latency, however hardware latency is still a major issue. With the use of high refresh rate monitors, hardware latency has become more prominent than ever. AMD tried to decrease hardware latency with its new RDNA architecture. Now Nvidia has come up with their take on the latency issue.

They have introduced an Ultra-low latency mode (NULL) with the new update. It reduces the load on the GPU by allowing it to render as low as one frame at a time which is displayed instantaneously on the screen thus minimizing input latency. You can turn it on through the global settings on the Nvidia control panel after the update.
